About Dr. Louis Castillo
The EZ Art of Singing, a vocal development program, is created and developed by Louis Castillo through a 53-year period working as a singer and entertainer in the music industry.In 1955 at the tender age of 8, Castillo began his singing career with the Don Antonio Castillo Big Band Orchestra at the World renowned Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The hotel was built by the Sharkies Brothers in the mid 18th hundreds.
1962: At age 14, Castillo enrolled in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) military band. He served 7 years.
1969: At age 21, Castillo worked in South Vietnam. He entertained in the US bases below the DMZ demitarized zone.
1971: At age 23, Castillo worked in seamens’ bars called Toby's Paradise, the Straits Cabaret and Ritz Bar, known as the entertainment strip in Singapore.
1972: At age 24, Castillo joined the pop band group called the CASTILLIANS as a multi-task singer cum trombonist, trumpetist, percussionist and saxophonist. He performed nightly at the very popular Lost Horizon Disco, Shangrila Hotel Singapore. lead by brother Tony Castillo from the USA.
1976: Castillo worked as a percussionist in EMI studios as a session musician.
1976: Discovered by executive TV producer Mr.Suhaimi Jais and embarked on an amazing journey in TV & Radio Singapore (RTS) from 1976 to 1980.
1977: Castillo joined the Tiara Supper club 7-piece band called the Ortegos,lead by Mr. Richard Ortega. He performed as a singer, emcee and trombonist.
1978: Castillo won the most outstanding singer award in the 1st Singapore popular music festival, sponsered by EMI Singapore, Yamaha Foundation, Rediffusion and Nanyang Siang Pao.
1978: Castillo represented Singapore in the World Popular Song Festival at Budukan Stadium Tokyo, Japan.
1979: Castillo formed his own jazz trio called Castle 3, with Mr. Iskandar Ismail and Mr. Ramly Shariff
1980: Performed with the late Olympio Galora who was voted Singapore's most prolific jazz trumpetist at the Neptune Theatre Restaurant.
1981: Performed in Creace chain of Japanese clubs, singing Japenese, Spanish, Korean, English, Mandarin and& Indonesian songs.
1983: Joined brother Tony for a short stint at the Hyatt Hotel (All that Jazz).
1983: Performed with his own band at the Jockeys Pub (All that Jazz)
1984: Represented Singapore at the FORTH ASEAN SONG FESTIVAL in Rizal Theatre Manila Philippines.
1985: Performed with brother Tony at Le Meridian Hotel (Changi)
1986: Performed at Summer Set Jazz Lounge at the Raffles Westin Stamford.
1986: Performed at the Neptune Theater Restaurant.
1987: performed at the Le Duke Supper Club, The Omni Marco Polo Hotel.
1987: Created & developed the Martial Arts of Singing thru’ intensive & rigorous training.
1990: Employed as Entertainment Director cum Emcee at CREACE chain of Japanese Clubs in Singapore
1993: Performed in several clubs island wide [ Singapore ]
1995: Performed at the Marina Mandarin Hotel
1996: Performed at the Hyatt Hotel.
1997: Performed with own Jazz trio at the iM Hotel.
1999: Brought a 15-piece orchestra & performed at the Regent Hotel Kowloon Hong Kong SAR
2000: Left music scene & concentrated on Special Vocal Development Program.
2000: Employed as Principal for Stage Training And Grooming Entertaining. [ STAGE ] In charge of Vocal Development.
2000: Elected President/Chairman of Musicians And Singers Association of Singapore.
2003: Holding 4 Job positions. (1) MD Airunited Pte.Ltd. (2) MD Vocal Developer (3) Music Teacher (4) Martial Arts Teacher
2008: Started own Business Professional Vocal Development Program. Now Known as the Martial Arts of SINGING.
